Luke = 1

What just happened?  Our sweet boy is now one year old.  We celebrated his birthday a week early, on July 13, because Dave was scheduled to be in Australia for work on the 20th (that project was moved, but too late to switch the party to his actual birthday).  When we scheduled the party, Luke was still taking two naps, so we put the party right between them from 12 - 3 p.m.  However, by the time his party arrived, he was only taking one nap, during the exact time the party was scheduled for.  So, that was a little anxiety producing but, like all things do, worked out fine!

We had a water/fish themed party.  Luke is still a bit too young to have a favorite character or show or something to base a party off of, but he LOVES the water, splashing in it, bathing in it, looking at it, so we went with ocean as our theme.  We had so much fun planning the food and decorations, and it turned out cute...not a Pinterest worthy party, but good enough for us!

We had family and friends, and babies galore to help us celebrate.  Luke LOVED his cake and ate about half of the small one I made him.  He loved playing in his new water table and showing his friend Lillian all of his toys (they very much enjoyed the ball pit together!).  He crashed hard at about 1:30 so Dave and I spent the rest of the afternoon talking and catching up with everyone.

It was a wonderful day.  It made my heart so happy to see everyone come together to spend time with us, hear everyone singing happy birthday to Luke, and realizing just how loved he is.

Thank you everyone for coming and supporting our family for Luke's birthday!

One last picture of all the baby friends!
