Luke = 4 Months

Our little guy is getting big!  There was a ton of change in his weight and length this month, as well as a ton of new skills.  Three months is a big developmental milestone for all babies, but combine that with surgery that greatly increases your oxygen levels, and this guy has changed a TON in the past month.

 Weight:  16 pounds, 11.8 ounces (77 percentile AND a 3 pound gain from last month.  I can do that easily, but to give Luke credit, it's much harder for a baby)
Length:  27 3/8".  Off the charts.  Get it buddy.  Your college scholarship = mom and dad’s retirement plan.
Clothes Size:  Some 6 months, mostly 9, some 12

Special Skills:  Where do I start?  Sitting great in his Bumbo seat, rolling over (from back over left side to tummy), giggling (finally official), huge smiles, lots of talking, loves reading books and trying to turn pages (not quite there yet), standing in our laps, walking up Dave's chest, loving seeing new things, staying awake and watching everything in church, really playing with his playmat – he recognizes new toys, and really pulls/rotates/plays with them, eating DOUBLE what he did before his surgery, looking at the baby in the mirror and thinking he’s hilarious, playing with/eating his feet (new fave activity)...basically just really coming to life!  He’s SUCH a fun little guy.

 In case you were wondering, those ARE baby legwarmers.  Hello ADORABLE (thanks Grammy).  I'm sure he won't be a fan when he's older but whatever.  It's fun now.

Must Have Products:  Fuzzy blankets and jammies, outfits with feet included (not a fan of socks), his lion hat (mostly because it’s adorable), and now Dr. Brown 8 oz. bottles!  He also loves his nursery rhyme books and stuffed frog Grandma Jan got him in the hospital.

 Lion hat.  New fave.  Butler jammies.  Old fave.

Kara/Mom's State of Mind:  So happy.  I still love staying home with the little guy.  Wondered if loving it would run out, but not so much.  Loved spending the holidays with our families and am so looking forward to seeing everyone again soon!  Also currently excited for holiday date night this Saturday with Dave, and margaritas on Monday with some great girls (FYI, a girl still needs to have some no-baby fun).  Also excited for our trip to Houston next week to see Jason, Kristy and Bowen!

Dave/Dad's State of Mind:  The giggling makes me melt inside.  I'm obsessed. Love that Luke can stand and walk up my chest and really interact with me.  Still excited that he's doing so great after his surgery, and very excited to go see Bowen (and Jason and Kristy).

 WARNING: MAJOR PHOTO DUMP FOLLOWING THIS MESSAGE.  I warned you.  Stop being mad about all the pictures of my kid.  He's just cute you know?
