St. Joseph, Michigan - Yaraschefski Family Trip

We drove up to Michigan the first full weekend in September this year, to get away for a few days with Dave's family.  Dave's sister Kristy did a great job coming up with and organizing this trip, and it was really a great couple of days to spend time as a family together.

We drove up from Indy with Jan and Jim on Friday, and had a great time in the 2.5 hour trip in our full van!

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express across from the lake and just a few minute drive from Silver Beach.  We met Julie and Aiden and Alicia right at the entrance, and as we checked in the gave us buckets, shovels and beach balls for each kid - so cool.  We had a great room with beds, a living area and a separate bedroom with bunk beds for the boys.

When the Bednarko's arrived Friday afternoon we headed straight for the water and got a few hours of beach time in, and the boys had a BLAST.  They were floating in the waves, walking out in the water with Uncle Jason, building sand castles, and splashing around like crazy.  When it started to get dark, we packed up, picked up some pizza for the hotel and headed back in.

No place is better than the beach when you're a kid.
Saturday we all had breakfast together in the lobby, and then, since it was raining outside, we spent most of the morning in the pool!  That was so much fun.  We had some lunch in Grandmas's room and a cake for Eli's belated second birthday and Dave's 32nd birthday!

After nap we headed to the beach to play on the playground, ride the famed carousel and have some dinner in town.  It had cleared up and was a beautiful evening!  We had a great dinner and spent the evening walking around the town.  We headed back to the hotel where the boys put on their matching jammies and had some popcorn while playing games and watching The Incredible's.

Sunday was gorgeous, and we were able to spend a few more hours at the beach with our toes in the sand before heading home.  What a wonderful, crazy, lovely trip it was!

We'll be back soon Michigan!  Here are some awesome pics!

Ready for beach time!!

Grandma, Grandpa, and the kiddos on a giant caterpillar.  Quite the crew.

Family time is the BEST time.

Literally the best friends on the planet.

Love watching this dude be a father.  The two of us have come a long way from our much younger, much dumber ways

In 12 years, these two will be TROUBLE.
The caterpillar is a hit...

Man do I love this girl.
