Summer 2016 - August

Well, hard to believe we have wrapped up another great summer!  With August as our last chance to finish up summer activities, we took full advantage!  We took Luke on his birthday camping trip and wrote a whole post on that excellent time, went to the state fair on our 4th annual trip with Papa, made sure we hit the farmer's market for one last visit of the season, had back to school meetings, met Luke's new teacher and friends, watched the Olympics, and Dave and I got away for a few days to LA to visit Joe and Hannah, which was an amazing time!  We had a blast seeing the wonderful life they have built out there!

As of this month, Luke is officially in pre-kindergarten!  Going to school Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 8:30 to 1:30.  His teacher is Mrs. Stamper and he has absolutely LOVED school this year.  Last year there were some issues with his behavior, and adjusting to the whole school routine for a few weeks, but not this year!  He just jumped right in and is having a blast!  He has a few friends from last year in his class, and a few new boys that we happen to know from other things, so it has been great.

With Luke in school, Eli and I have been able to have some sweet day dates together!  I have to stop myself from being go, go, go all the time and realize this all only happens once!  We usually go play at the park at Trader's Point for a half hour or so, and then head off for errands.  Once a week or so we will stop at the Zionsville Starbucks, get a drink and a snack and hang out on the porch there.  It is so much fun.  Eli is getting so chatty and we have a great time watching all the cars go by and slowing down our morning :)  Luke being in school also makes me so appreciate non school days, and breaks!  I love those mornings where we have no deadline to be anywhere, and we are able to wake up slowly and all spend some time together!

This month we had a nanny fiasco - please ask us in person if you need an explanation :)  So going into the fall we are working hard to figure out how to manage childcare for both boys since Luke is in school more often, and I am working more weekdays off of weekend option.  We also have a few other pending things that are really exciting and may affect how all of that pans out so we are trying to patiently wait and see!  We'll keep you all posted!

We are so looking forward to the fall season coming up with a neighbor movie night, family trip to Michigan, trip with friends to Brown County, and all the loveliness that fall brings!
