Give Thanks and Lie to your Family and Friends

Happy Thanksgiving!!! It's one of my favorite holidays - I always look forward to hanging out with family and eating my mom's fantastic Thanksgiving dinner. I can't believe that next year at this time we will be having a little one join us for Thanksgiving. This year, Thanksgiving is a bit more challenging though because Kara is pregnant and we can't tell anyone.  It's like we have this big secret that society tells us we have to keep.  Kara is having a really hard time with it, because she is an absolutely terrible liar, and she also is so excited to tell everyone.  It's especially hard around the holidays because it's a time when you drink wine or go out with friends and she can't really do any of that. The worst was when I took her little brother out for his 21st in Broad Ripple and she couldn't come.  Stupid smoky bars.  We had to tell him that she was sick....but I'm relatively sure he knows that she's knocked up. Damn you Joe.  The other hard time was when her high school friends came over and we all drank wine and hung out.  I had a great time, but spent most of the evening trying to sneak out to the garage and pour Welch's sparkling grape juice in Kara's wine glass without anyone seeing me. I can't wait until Christmas;when we can let the cat out of the bag.  Although I'd probably give 10 to one odds that Kara will tell someone by then and it will get out.
