Luke = 18 months

Our sweet stinking is 18 months old (well 19 yesterday, but who's on time anymore?  Clearly not me).

Luke is just the best right now.  He's so much fun, learning so many new words, and LOVING having his daddy home every night.  I cannot tell you how wonderful having Dave home has been for Luke and our family.  It's a completely different dynamic with both of us here, and we are just SO grateful that everything fell into place so he didn't have to miss any more of Luke growing up.

But, back to Luke being 18 months.  Before his well child visit I made a list of words he was saying, so I was prepared when our pediatrician asked me!  Here is his list!  I also added the ones he has just started saying in the last few weeks so I don't forget.

He's also now repeating things right after you say them, and saying new words really well right away. He's also putting words together like "dino, big" (aka Children's Museum dinosaurs).

As far as his stats at the Doctor, he is again, WAY off the charts for height at 36.75" tall and 97th percentile in weight at 30.2 pounds.  He's doing exactly what he's supposed to be developmentally, and didn't even cry when he got his one shot!  I was so proud of him.

I wish I had better words to describe his sweet nature right now.  He notices and remembers everything, he associates things with people (when he sees cameras he says "Joe" because Uncle Joe always has his camera around and he says "PaPa" when playing with gifts PaPa has given him etc.), and he is so unbelievably loving.

He loves to give Dave hugs around his head when he bends down, he loves to grab our faces and give open mouth kisses, and is especially quick to do this when he knows he's in trouble.  He is a great, great sleeper and eater, still taking 2 to 3 hour naps in the afternoon and sleeping 11-12 hours at night.  He LOVES sweet potatoes with a little butter cinnamon and salt, cheese of any kind, spaghetti, apple sauce, graham crackers and goldfish.  He also has been lucky enough to have popcorn with his neighbor friends, and he loves that as well.

He loves helping daddy start fires by bringing him paper and blowing on the fire.  I must say that is one of my favorite things to watch.  He loves to brush his teeth at night, and read books with daddy before bed.  He loves to play outside in the snow, and in fact throws a FIT when it's time to come inside.  He unfortunately does not understand the concept of frostbite and/or negative temperatures.

He is doing so great when we drop him off at daycare at church, no crying at all, and he has a great time playing with everyone there.  He is also doing great when we go to pick him up, he used to cry when other parents starting coming, but now he is so happy and is fine waiting for us to get him.  He LOVES dinos, the Children's Museum.

We love him so, so much and delight in him every single day.  I just can't believe how much better and more fun parenting is becoming as he grows and learns about everything around him.
