Christmas 2013

I am posting this incredibly late (in July...Christmas in July?) but backdating the post so that it follows behind our post about the fall of 2013.   That was always my intention but somehow, did not happen :)

Our 2013 Christmas tree was a live Douglas Fir...we were planning on putting it in the back corner by our fireplace, which is why it is so skinny...however, in the end we decided to put it in the same spot as the previous year's, so it ended up looking a little small.  We were just glad to have one finally up, as we waited for Dave to get home from Brazil to put it up together!

Our back living room Christmas morning, Santa left Luke's big gift all covered up!

Luke on Christmas morning, before opening his gifts!  Next are several pictures of him opening/playing with his new kitchen, it was a BIG hit!

He also opened up a bear from Grandpa Jim that he was very sweet on :)

We eventually had to pry him away from the kitchen/bear to head to our last Christmas at Grammy's old house (where I grew up, she sold it in March 2014).

Luke opening his MoMo (Elmo) from Uncle Evan, another HUGE hit.  He carried this guy around for months!

A box...another excellent find.

A few days later we celebrated Christmas at Grandma's house with Uncle Ben, Aunt Julie and Aiden and Alicia.

A ride on the Christmas train at Castleton Mall with Mommy and Daddy!

Then, we had our last Christmas celebration with Papa at our house in January since Papa had surgery right before Christmas!

Reading Jake and the Neverland Pirates with Papa!  He also got some great diggers from Papa that hang out in our sandbox now!

2013 was also the first year that we put lights on our house!  I have always wanted to have lights up at the holidays, it just makes everything more beautiful and festive.  Dave surprised me when I got home from seeing friends one night with these lights up on the house!  Since he was gone so late into December we didn't know if we would actually get them up.  These were only about half of those we bought, so maybe a bigger show next year??
